Victim Reports Obscenity Etched into their Vehicle with a Key

FREMONT – A victim of criminal mischief reported someone had keyed his car door.

According to Lt. Ed Watts with the Fremont Police Department at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday officers responded to a criminal mischief complaint in the 2600 block of N. Laverna Street. It was reported that there was a red Chevrolet pickup parked on the street and an unknown person scratched an obscenity into the driver door. The damage was believed to have been done with a key. The estimated damage was $100. There are no suspects at this time.

And at 12:41 a.m. today officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of N. Bell Street after observing a vehicle speeding. Contact was made with the driver, who was identified as 49-year-old Evaristo Perez of Fremont. It was discovered he was driving on a suspended license. Due to having no prior convictions he was cited and released for the offenses of Driving During Suspension and Excessive Speed of 11-15 mph Over the Speed Limit.
