Unusual Thefts In Fremont This Weekend

FREMONT – Two thefts with losses totaling nearly $1,500 occurred this weekend, with an undisclosed sum in quarters and a locksmith set among the items stolen.

Friday March 9th  around noon, the Fremont Police department responded to a theft that was reported in the 1500 block of west 9th Street.  The victim parked his Lexus 300 on the street in front of his home, and an unknown person or persons broke into the car and took the victim’s iPhone, 2 keyless entry fobs for the vehicle, the phone’s a charging cord, and a locksmith set.  The dollar amount of the stolen items is estimated at $740.00.

Then, on Sunday, the police received a theft and property damage complaint from the apartment complex in the 1500 block of west 9th Street.  It was reported to police that someone entered the laundry facilities at the complex, broke into the change machines on two different clothes washers, and took money from the machines.  Damage to the change machines is estimated at $700.00 and the financial loss is undisclosed. There are no suspects.
