Two Thefts on Tuesday Leave Business, Residence Feeling Sting

FREMONT – Two thefts occurred yesterday, one from a business and one from a home, leaving both the resident and the business owner feeling violated.

Tuesday morning just before 8AM, Fremont Police responded to a reported theft from  a business in the 100 block of north D Street.  A Milwaukee brand ¾” angle drill and a Milwaukee brand Sawzall were taken from a vehicle owned by the business.  The total dollar estimate for both stolen items is approximately $450.00.

Later in the afternoon, Fremont Police investigated the day’s second theft, as a burglary was reported to a residence in the 1700 block of Iowa Street. The resident of the home reported that their Sentry brand safe was stolen, along with the contents.  There were no signs of forced entry at the time the complaint was made, and it is believed the safe could have been taken sometime in the last 5 to 6 weeks.  The estimated loss of the safe and personal items is approximately $950.00.
