Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest After Police Discover Marijuana, Concealed Weapon

FREMONT – A traffic stop resulted in one arrest and the discovery of an unusual concealed weapon in the arrestee’s possession.

Tuesday evening at approximately 5:00PM, police had contact with an eighteen year old male during a traffic stop in the 500 block of north Broad Street.  During the stop, the arresting officer noted the odor of marijuana emanating from the car.

The resulting search lead officers to a large quantity of marijuana hidden in a backpack inside the car, and a machete concealed between the driver and front passenger seats. The 18 year old male was arrested on suspicion of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
