Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest in Fremont

FREMONT – A late night traffic stop lead to one man’s arrest on multiple charges, including drug and weapon offenses.

Wednesday night, just before midnight, Fremont Police stopped a vehicle traveling in the 1200 block of Morningside road for an apparent vehicle equipment defect. During the stop, police had reason to suspect the driver was in possession of illegal substances and a police K9 alerted officers to the presence of narcotics. Officers performed a search of the vehicle and discovered drugs, drug paraphernalia and a weapon.

As a result, Lee E. Altmanshofer, 33, of Fremont was arrested for Possession of Drugs (methamphetamine), Possession of Marijuana less than One Ounce, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Deadly Weapon (Knife.)

At approximately 9:00PM, Jonathan M. Lucas, 31, of Fremont was cited on suspicion of 3rd Degree Assault following an altercation at a residence in the 200 block of west 23rd Street. The victim sustained minor injuries.
