FREMONT – Three Fremonters were cited for possession of marijuana on Wednesday. Each was cited after Fremont Police stopped them for unrelated offenses: vehicle tint too dark, expired plates and disturbing the peace.
Around 12:50PM Eric Bautista, 20, of Fremont was arrested following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of north Bell Street. Bautista was stopped after he was observed operating a motor vehicle which appeared to have window tint that darker than the legal standard. Police learned that alhtough Bautista was the registered owner of the vehicle, he did not have a valid Nebraska operator’s license.
Bautista was arrested for Driving without an Operator’s License. Following his arrest, a pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana was found in his pocket, and tests confirmed it contained burnt marijuana residue. Bautista was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana less than One Ounce and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Shortly after, around 2:00PM Tyler L. Maple, 25, of Fremont was stopped in the 500 south block of South Broad Street after he was observed operating a motor vehicle with expired license plates. During the stop the odor of burnt marijuana was evident in Maple’s vehicle. During a search a plastic baggie of marijuana was found inside Maple’s clothing, and he was cited for Possession of Marijuana less than One Ounce.
Finally, Wednesday evening after 7:00PM Tameka D. Lee, 22, of Fremont was cited for Possession of Marijuana less than One Ounce and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia following a disturbance complaint at a residence in the 200 block of east 2nd. Officers were dispatched to the home because the resident had unwelcome visitors who reportedly refused to leave. After officers arrived, Lee was found in possession of a pipe used to smoke marijuana and the pipe contained marijuana.
