Thousands of Dollars in Property Stolen in Storage Unit Burglaries

FREMONT – Thousands of dollars in property was stolen from two storage units over the weekend, with several firearms listed among the items stolen.

The two burglaries from the storage facility in the 500 block of north Pierce street were reported separately, with one report coming in on Saturday evening and the other on Sunday morning. The first victim reported that a rented storage unit had been forcibly entered and items stolen. Among the items reported stolen from this unit were a Stihl brand Wood Boss chainsaw, a 4-person Coleman brand tent and various tools.   A sliding lock was also damaged.  The total dollar estimate of the stolen/damaged items on this report is $1100.00.

The second victim reported the same – their unit forcibly entered and their property stolen. Among the items listed on the burglary report were a Sentry brand safe and several firearms, including a 12-gauge shotgun, a 20-gauge pump action Charles Daly, and a 50-caliber black powder rifle.  A Matthews brand compound bow was also reported stolen.  The estimated loss in this burglary is $1350.00.
