String of Thursday Burglaries Under Investigation

FREMONT – Three separate burglaries were reported to the Fremont Police yesterday between 8AM and 2PM, with damages and stolen property valued at nearly $4,000 in cumulative losses.

The first report came in just before 8:00AM, when a burglary was reported at a business in the 1400 block of west Military Avenue.  The would-be thief entered the business sometime during the overnight Wednesday-Thursday hours by forcibly opening the backdoor, but nothing was reported taken. Despite that fact, damage to the backdoor is estimated at $1,000.00.

Later on Thursday morning, around 11:30AM, another burglary was reported. This time, someone broke into a home in the 800 block of south Broad Street.  That unknown person entered the residence through a window, then took an Apple iPhone, various pieces of jewelry and Beats brand earbud headphones. The total value of the stolen property this incident is estimated around $2,500.00.

The last burlgary report came in at 1:30PM. A woman was at a city park in the 2200 block of north Main Street, leaving her car unattended nearby.  Someone entered the victim’s car, opened the trunk and took the victim’s black purse.  Inside the purse were various personal items, including a prepaid smart phone, prescription medications and forms of personal identification.
