CEDAR BLUFFS – A long time Cedar Bluffs teacher and coach was recently diagnosed with cancer, and the community she’s supported is ready to rally around her.
LyAnn Soderling, fondly known as Sod to her friends, students and family, has been a teacher and coach in the Cedar Bluffs school system for 28 years. 2018 should have been a year of rest, relaxation and reward for her, as she was set to retire. Instead, Soderling was diagnosed with bone cancer.
The Pink Out / We Care Committee in Cedar Bluffs, along with the Cedar Bluffs Public Schools will be hosting a spaghetti feed on Wednesday, May 16th from 4:30PM to 8:00PM at Todd’s Tavern in Cedar Bluffs. The cost is $10 per person. There will also be a raffle and bake sale, and the groups will accept freewill donations in addition to the events and dinner.
As a special fundraising item, the tops of the art room tables are being cut into memory squares and offered for sale. All proceeds from the art table squares will go directly to Soderling.
If you would like to contribute a raffle item, donation or baked goods for the bake sale, you can bring those items to the Cedar Bluffs Elementary building by May 16th at 3:30PM.
