FREMONT – Sunny days might have been a little hard to come by over these last few months, but Fremont’s first solar farm is up and producing electricity for those participants who bought into a panel or group of panels.
The City of Fremont’s Department of Utilities has launched a new website where anyone can monitor the performance of the solar farm. Available by clicking here, anyone can use the interactive website to see daily, five-day, weekly, monthly, annual, and lifetime production for the solar farm.
To officially kick off Solar Farm #1, the city will hold an open house & tours on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 4pm.
If you missed out on the opportunity to buy into the solar farm, you’ll have another opportunity. In March, the City Council approved the bid to build Solar Farm #2. GenPro Energy Solutions, the same contractor that built Solar Farm #1, will build the second solar farm at the city well field south of Fremont, just off Old Highway 275. The department of utilities will have sign up opportunities coming soon.
