FREMONT – Fremont Area Habitat for Humanity and volunteers will work on a build project Thursday morning.
Habitat for Humanity and volunteers will gather at First State Bank & Trust Co. to take part in the seventh annual on-site Fremont Area Habitat for Humanity build project. First State employees will work alongside the volunteers to build picnic tables for soon-to-be homeowners. According to Vice President of Marketing at First State, Cindy Slykhuis, the bank has been partnering with Habitat for many years, but this time they chose to help with a different type of project.
“This year we chose to take on a new project. To engage as many of our staff as possible, we have worked to find quality projects that can be completed onsite at the bank,” said Slykhuis. “Given the importance of family mealtime, we thought building a table for these deserving families could be a really unique and special gift. Besides sharing a meal, giving families the space to share time and conversation feeds the spirit.”
Volunteers and employees will be building the picnic tables in the parking lot of First State Bank & Trust Co., located at 1005 E. 23rd Street.
