Search for Charles Folsom Continues, EMA Still Active

FREMONT – Multiple policing agencies are still searching for Charles Folsom, the 90 year old Fremont man last seen on Tuesday morning.

Searchers located Folsom’s vehicle yesterday afternoon. Folsom’s car, the 2006 grey Chevy Equinox mentioned in the original Endangered Missing Alert, was located near County Road S. However, Folsom was not with that vehicle and the search continued into the night.

Officials from the Nebraska State Patrol put a boat in the Elkhorn River to search the area between Nickerson and the Elkhorn River Access Point near 204th and Maple Streets. Meanwhile, dozens of officers from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol, and the Fremont Police Department were joined by several volunteers from area fire departments and conducted a land search, battling the low visibility between the corn stalks where Folsom may yet be.

This morning, the Fremont Police department issued a short missive: “Fremont Police Detectives are presently searching in the area where his car was located yesterday.  As of this writing there are no new developments.” Policing agencies will continue searching today, and the Endangered Missing Alert for Charles Folsom remains active today.
