WAHOO – The 28th Annual Christmas on the Prairie hosted by the Saunders County Museum is this weekend.
The museum opens their buildings to the public on Saturday and Sunday and holds numerous different activities during the two-day event. Curator with the museum Erin Hauser says they have so many activities and programs over the weekend that there’s something for everyone.
“It’s a fun family event. There’s a lot of things to do,” said Hauser. “We have demonstrations and programs. We have kids activities. There’s also a festival of trees, a silent auction, and a bake sale. There’s something for everyone.”
Hauser says the event has no admission fee and anyone came come and see the different buildings on the museum’s grounds.
“We work very hard to keep it a free event. So there’s no charge to come,” said Hauser. “It’s a great opportunity to see all of our buildings that we have on our grounds. We have seven buildings plus a historic house and they’re all open this weekend.”
