Saturday Morning Traffic Stop Yields Serious Charges

FREMONT – A Saturday morning traffic stop ended with an arrest on multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine.

Saturday morning around 11:30, Fremont Police stopped a speeding vehicle in the 700 block of north Union street. When police stopped the driver, it was learned that she did not have a Nebraska operator’s license. Police arrested Encarnation L. Lopez, 24, of Fremont on charges of No Operator’s License and Speeding +11-15mph over the Speed Limit.

During her arrest, Lopez attempted to conceal or destroy a small baggie. Police tested the substance inside and it was determined to be methamphetamine. Lopez was additionally charged with Possession of Drugs or Narcotics and was taken into custody.
