BENNINGTON – An intersection that has transitioned from a two-way stop to a four-way stop will transition once more – this time, with the stops replaced entirely by a roundabout feature.
Weather permitting, construction will begin next Monday, June 24, on the N-31/N-36 roundabout project, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Constructors Inc is the contractor on this project.
Through traffic will be maintained, but the DOT expects multiple lane shifts and 4-way stops will be necessary to accommodate the construction of the roundabout, which should be complete by this fall.
As always, the DOT encourages motorists to drive cautiously through construction zones, and to consider alternate routes or expect delays.
