Yesterday, the Blue Cross had an extremely successful blood drive. Their goals for the drive included a 58 unit goal for Monday, March 23rd. An outpouring of support provided them with 77 viable units. They will be at Christensen Field today, the second day of the drive, until 4:30pm. You may sign up to be a donor by calling 1-800-Red Cross, going to their website redcrossblood.org or walk ins are welcome. Please however, consider your health before donating. Healthy individuals are needed and encouraged to donate lifesaving blood.
St Matthews Lutheran Church in Cedar Bluffs is hosting a drive also today until 6:30 pm. Future drives will be Ace Hardware in Fremont on Sunday April 5th from 11 am to 5 pm and Saturday April 11th at the Fremont Mall from 9 am until 3 pm.
Donating blood is a safe process and people shouldn’t hesitate to give or receive blood. They do ask you to postpone your donation for 28 days following travel to China including Hong Kong and Mancu as well as Iran, Italy and South Korea. Also, please refrain from donating if you have been diagnosed or have had contact with anyone with a suspected or confirmed case of Covid-19.
