Police Arrest Woman on Charges of Assault, Resisting

FREMONT – Police arrested a woman on Wednesday evening after she lost her temper, repeatedly slapping an acquaintance, shouting profanities and eventually resisting arrest.

Just before 9PM, Fremont Police responded to a reported domestic disturbance in the 400 block of west 8th street. When they arrived, police received a complaint from a man at the residence, stating that Ashley M. Phelps, 26, of Fremont had repeatedly struck him in the face. Police observed Phelps behaving erratically, shouting profanities while standing outside, and repeatedly asked her to rein in the behavior.

Officers attempted to place Phelps under under arrest, a process which she physically resisted.  She was arrested on suspicion of 3rd Degree Domestic Assault, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct.
