FREMONT – Ground was officially broken on Fremont’s newest subdivision, Morningside Crossing.

This mixed use development will be constructed in three phases, with the first phase underway now. The process will begin with grading immediately, and construction on the first units on the property will start in the spring. First on the builder’s docket: Morningside Creek Apartments, a 108-unit multi-level apartment building with a clubhouse, walking trail and a dog park. The complex will also boast a resort-style swimming pool and full-service lounge. Pricing for the apartments has not yet been determined.

Following the completion of this phase one construction, there are two more phases to come. Eventually, there will be over 300 units in this development.┬áCon Muilenburg, Ben Muilenburg and Spencer Lombardo make up the development team for Morningside Crossing, and their portfolios boast projects throughout the Midwest. Lombardo said, “We came to Fremont because of the stability of the community. There’s a lot of great employers here – a lot of recession-proof employers here – which we think is great for our business, but also great for the state of Nebraska.”
