FREMONT – With the year’s first Flood Advisory for Dodge county issued yesterday, many people find themselves with concerns about the potential for damaging floods in 2020. Will there be a repeat of last year’s flooding? What can we do to protect our properties? How will the weather service and state officials notify the public of potential flooding?
These questions and others will be answered at Christensen Field tonight, February 4th, at 7PM. David Pearson, a hydrologist from the NWS office in Valley, will present a current flood outlook and will be available to answer questions from the public about the 2020 spring flood outlook. The meeting will include a multimedia presentation about flooding, ice surveillance and individual preparedness methods.
The meetings are free and open to the public. Attendees can expect the meeting to last about an hour and a half. For more information on tonight’s Flood Outlook meeting, contact the Dodge County Emergency Management office at (402) 727-2785.
