NRCS Staff will Host Meetings to Discuss Updates to Drainage Tile Policy

WAHOO – The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will be hosting two meetings to discuss drainage tile installation and recent policy updates.

On Thursday, February 15th NRCS will hold two meetings in Wahoo and Norfolk to discuss how to install drainage tile without violating the National Food Security Act’s regulations. They will also review updated guidance documents, the wetland policy, and the procedure for installing tile.

Recently there have been updates to tile policy in the state. Anyone in attendance will be able to speak with state and local NRCS staff. They will be available to review information you need to know when installing drainage tile.  People will also be able to ask questions and address concerns to the Nebraska NRCS Environmental Specialist and Wetland Policy Specialist, the Nebraska State Hydraulic Engineer, as well as NRCS staff from local county offices.

Both meetings will take place on February 15th. The meeting in Norfolk will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Lifelong Learning Center, located at 801 E. Benjamin Avenue. The meeting in Wahoo will be from 2-5 p.m. at Lower Platte North NRD, which is located at 511 Commercial Park Road.
