BELLEVUE – The Sarpy & Cass County Health Department has confirmed its health district’s first positive COVID-19 coronavirus case. This case is Nebraska’s 23rd. The Nebraska DHHS also announced a 24th case late Tuesday night.
The 23rd case is not considered community acquired, at this time. That patient is a man in his 30s who had contact with an out-of-state business traveler that also tested positive for the virus. This Sarpy county man is self-isolating at this time, and has been since March 14th.
Nebraska’s 24th case is a man in his 50s from Lincoln County, and is also travel related. The man was recently on a cruise, and traveled to California. He is now self-isolating at home.
Contact investigations are underway; anyone who needs to quarantine themselves as a result of this case will be contacted by the health department.
