FREMONT — The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) will hold an information open house tonight, February 27, regarding proposed improvements to U.S. Highway 77 (US-77, South Broad Street) in Dodge County, including the City of Fremont and the Village of Inglewood.
The meeting will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Washington Elementary, 515 S. Broad Street, in Fremont. The proposed Inglewood – Fremont project would mill, resurface and repair 1.46 miles of US-77 starting 0.3 miles north of the south corporate limits of Inglewood, at mile marker (MM) 112.48, and would extend north to MM 113.92, just south of the intersection of US-77 and 5th Street. Work also includes bridge
expansion joint replacement and guardrail replacement.
The proposed US-77/Cloverly Rd, Inglewood project begins 0.09 miles south of the intersection on US-77 at MM 112.80 and extends north to MM 113.00. The project includes Cloverly Road extending 100 feet west and 535 east of US-77. Improvements on this project would consist of pavement widening to provide left turn lanes on all four approaches to the intersection, as well as storm sewer and curb inlet modifications, sidewalks, street lighting and traffic signals.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin spring of 2019 and be complete by fall of 2019. The proposed project would be constructed under traffic with lane closures controlled with approved traffic control. Additional project information will be provided at the public meeting. Personnel from the Department of Transportation will be available to answer questions, receive comments, and discuss any aspect of the
proposed highway improvement project. Information regarding the project will be available after the meeting on the NDOT website www.dot.nebraska.gov/projects/future-projects/ by clicking on the “Inglewood – Fremont & US-77/Cloverly Rd, Inglewood ” link.
