NICKERSON — Today, the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) announced that N-91 near Nickerson will reopen on Wednesday, June 12.
The roadway was damaged during the March 2019 flooding and will be reopened to a single lane with flagging operations during work hours with both lanes fully opening on Friday, June 14.
Flood waters caused significant damage to the pavement of N-91 between Nickerson and Blair causing the roadway to be closed to through traffic since March 15, 2019. Goree Backhoe and Excavating, out of Fremont, partnered with the NDOT to reopen the roadway and restore mobility in just over 90 days. Work included pavement and shoulder reconstruction for a total cost of $1.8 million.
