BLAIR – A rare attack in a largely peaceful town stunned Blair residents on Wednesday morning.
Around 7:30AM, a Blair man was in his parked car near Highway 30 and Marina Drive in Blair, when he was approached by two suspicious individuals – one man, one woman. They demanded the victim exit the vehicle, with the obvious intention of stealing the car. When the victim refused, the male suspect cut his arm with a blade.
The suspects then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, but their flight was short lived – they were apprehended about an hour and a half later in the one thousand block of South 19th Street in Blair thanks to the efforts of multiple policing agencies: Blair Police, Omaha Police, Nebraska State Patrol and the Washington County Sheriff’s office each mobilized officers to assist in the investigation.
As a result of the investigation and apprehension, 35 year old Abby Arnold and 32 year old Christopher Dauphin, both of Blair, were arrested on charges of Robbery, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, and second degree Assault.
