FREMONT – Midland University will hold separate Commencement ceremonies for its graduate and undergraduate programs this year. Baccalaureate also will be held on a different day than in previous years.
Baccalaureate will be held at 3:30PM on Friday, May 11, in Kimmel Theatre. It will be followed by a reception on the Campus Green at 4:30 p.m. and the Nurse Pinning Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. in Kimmel Theatre.
Later that evening, Commencement for the Center for Graduate and Professional Studies will be held at 7PM on Friday, May 11, in the Wikert Event Center. It will be followed by a reception in the Wikert Event Center lobby.
Students in undergraduate programs of the university’s five colleges will participate in their Commencement ceremony at 10AM on Saturday, May 12, in the Wikert Event Center. 1993 alumnus Rico Munn, superintendent of the fifth-largest school district in Colorado, will be the honorary speaker.
“We are thrilled that Rico Munn will be our commencement speaker this year,” President Jody Horner said. “His leadership experience and community involvement embody Midland’s mission and vision, and we are excited about the opportunity for our graduates to hear his message.”
In past years, Midland has held one Commencement ceremony, which was preceded by Baccalaureate, all on the same day.
