OMAHA — Metropolitan Community College’s Gateway to College program is a recipient of the 2018 Gateway Graduation Achievement award, an award given by the Gateway to College National Network. The award was given at the Gateway National Conference in Portland, Oregon in July and recognizes programs that have strong graduation rates.
“The award highlights the momentum that our program is gaining since coming to Omaha in 2010,” said Will Smith, student resource specialist at MCC Gateway to College. “It also shows that we are putting in the necessary work to make sure we are getting our students graduated. Some of our students have many barriers and obstacles to overcome and we are incredibly proud to help so many of them graduate the program.”
MCC Gateway to College is a dual enrollment high school diploma completion program that gives disengaged students or students at-risk of dropping out of high school an opportunity to re-engage in education. The program also gives students a pathway to pursue their postsecondary education and career goals with MCC’s associate degree and certificate programs.
