MainStreet of Fremont will be hosting it’s annual Concert in the Park every Thursday at 7 p.m. in the month of June at the John C. Fremont Park. This free event is open to the public and will feature local and regional artists, food trucks and activities for children.

Each Thursday a different band with a different genre of music will be brought in. On Thursday, June 7, the band NextGen will play. This will be followed by Lemon Fresh Day on June 14, Blue House on June 21 and High Heel on June 23.

The genres of these bands range from 70’s and 80’s music, more modern hits, blues and country.

“We try to do a nice mix so that we can at least please a little bit of everybody throughout the community as far as the type of music that we bring in, and we like to mix it up and change bands each year so there’s a nice mix throughout the community,” said Shannon Mullen, MainStreet Fremont Director.

This event is sponsored by Edward Jones (Justin and Joel Jelkin), First State Bank and Trust, Fremont and Dodge County CVB, Fremont Health, Big Dog 98.9 FM/1340 AM/KFMT 105.5 FM Radio, Keep Fremont Beautiful and the City of Fremont. Mullen said the sponsors picked the bands that would perform and provided funding for the event.

According to Mullen, the event is family friendly and is a good opportunity for members of the community to socialize.

“It’s just a really good opportunity for people to come, relax and enjoy music with others in a very secure, comfortable environment that people can come and go as they choose, so it’s really, really great,” she said.
