FREMONT – MainStreet of Fremont, Inc. has hired a new executive director: Cortney Schaefer joined the organization on Monday, January 7th.
Cortney’s hiring was predicated by the resignation of Shannon Mullen from the position. Mullen, who resigned to focus her efforts within the Fremont & Dodge County Convention & Visitors Bureau, will remain involved in the greater Fremont area, and MainStreet of Fremont and the Fremont & Dodge County CVB will continue to share office space in downtown Fremont.
“MainStreet of Fremont greatly appreciates the five years of leadership that Shannon has given us. Working with Shannon, MainStreet has accomplished many goals and has set our organization up for success and a smooth transition to our new director, Courtney.” according to Jill Gossett, MainStreet of Fremont board chairwoman. “MainStreet looks forward to continuing to work in collaboration with our various partners and all of our members as we embark on our 25th Anniversary.”
Prior to moving to Fremont, Schafer served as Airport Operations Supervisor for the City of Wichita Falls, Texas. Previously, she served as a Medical Technician with the United States Air Force. Schaefer brings this wealth of transportation and travel administration experience, plus skilled operations management, organizational strategy, and marketing know-how to the table at MainStreet.
“MainStreet is the heart of the city,” Schaefer said. “I look forward to not only getting involved in the City of Fremont but being a part of an organization that promotes the business district within the downtown community.”
MainStreet Fremont, Inc. celebrates their 25th Anniversary this year. Founded in 1994, MainStreet’s mission is to encourage, promote, and support downtown’s economic vitality, as well as the image and appearance of downtown Fremont.
