Loose Cattle At Large Near Ames

AMES – Drivers passing through the Ames area may want to exercise a little extra caution today, as one area rancher is reporting two escaped Angus cattle.

The pair, one black Angus and one red Angus, escaped containment near Ames this morning on County Road 16 between County Roads R and S. Each weigh nearly 600 pounds – about the equivalent of three deer – and motorists are urged to be very cautious until the cattle are recaptured.
