FREMONT – A local woman’s routine eye exam quickly turned into something much more serious – brain cancer.
Sherry Fritz went in for an eye exam after having some trouble with her vision, and doctors quickly determined that she was suffering from brain cancer. Sherry’s condition deteriorated rapidly; she has now completely lost vision in one eye and is going partially blind in the other. She starts chemotherapy this week.
“Despite everything,” said one of Sherry’s close friends, “this girl smiles through it all, never complains.” It’s this spirit of determination that inspired her friends at one local motorcycle club to rally around Sherry and her family with a Poker Run & Fundraiser, coming up on June 22nd.
At the final stop of the Poker Run, the club will give prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd highest hands, and there will be karaoke with an after party to celebrate Sherry and raise money to combat the financial burden she and her family now face. You can enter the Poker Run for $20.00 per rider, $10.00 Entry per passenger – all vehicles are welcome, not just motorcycles.
The club is also collecting prizes to raffle off. If you would like to donate a raffle prize, contact the chapter president at (402) 719-3897. If you would like to donate directly to Sherry, you can do so on this Facebook Fundraiser.
