Lincoln Short Film Festival Seeks Short Films

LINCOLN – The Cube Art Project is now seeking short films for the 2019 Lincoln Short Film Festival! Indie filmmakers, businesses and students of all ages are welcome to submit films and movies under 12 minutes in length.

The Project is seeking films that are suitable for a public audience that will make viewers laugh, cry, wonder, and learn. “Whether you are new to filmmaking or a seasoned producer,” say organizers, “we hope you will enter and be part of great filmmaking in Nebraska.”

The festival takes place on the Cube in the Railyard in Lincoln, Nebraska on May 3rd from 5:30 – 10 PM.

There are 4 categories with awards:

  • Animation and experimental films
  • Documentaries
  • Narratives
  • Students films in all categories (any age)


Winners in each category will receive $500 during the awards ceremony the evening of the festival. Entry fees are $10 for students and $15 for all others.  Organizers recognize that film making is expensive, and the team behind the festival will waive the entry fees in some cases. Deadline for films at fine-cut stage is March 29th, with the final cut due April 15th. Visit to enter.
