Liberty Tax Holds Food Drive to Benefit Lifehouse

FREMONT – Liberty Tax is in the process of collecting canned  food to support the LifeHouse Food Pantry in Fremont, Nebraska in its mission to eliminate hunger. The food drive is being held from February 15 – February 28th.

Everyone who brings in 10 cans of food will receive a $50 discount off their tax return preparation. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to play a part in feeding the needy in our community,” said Linda Yeager, Office Supervisor at Liberty Tax in Fremont.

Care Corps Family Services and Low Income Ministry entered into a strategic partnership to offer comprehensive services under the name LifeHouse.

For forty five years, Low Income Ministry has been helping families in the Fremont and Dodge County area through their pantry, thrift store, and rent/utilities assistance programs. Care Corps Family Services began as a homeless shelter in 1996. While they continue to run an emergency shelter, Care Corps now offers additional services to prevent and heal homelessness, including transitional housing, permanent housing, rapid rehousing, case management and homelessness prevention programs. These services touch over 1,000 individuals each year.

The public is invited to stop by Liberty Tax (1455 N Bell Street) with donations of any size for the food pantry program at Lifehouse.
