Information Open House March 7 for Improvements on U.S. Highway 75 in Washington County

HERMAN – The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) will hold a public information open house regarding proposed improvements of U.S. Highway 75 (US-75) in Washington County.  The meeting will be held at the Jackson-Peck Post 274 American Legion Hall, 705 Main Street, in Herman, on March 7, 5:00-7:00 p.m.

The proposed project would resurface approximately 9.84 miles of US-75, starting about 0.31 miles south of the northern corporate limits of Blair, at mile marker (MM) 116.35, and extending north to MM 126.19, about 0.29 miles north of the northern corporate limits of Herman.  The planned construction would consist of pavement widening in Blair, concrete repairs, asphalt patching, milling and resurfacing the roadway and shoulders with asphalt, replacement of culverts, and ADA improvements.  The proposed project would also include replacement of two bridges and repair of one bridge.

Construction could begin as early as fall of 2020 and be completed by winter of 2021.  The proposed project would be constructed under traffic with lane closures controlled with approved temporary traffic control.  Bridge construction and repair will require temporary street closures and local traffic access may be affected.  Additional project information will be provided at the public meeting.

Personnel from NDOT will be present to answer questions and receive comments.  Information regarding the proposed project will be made available on the NDOT website at: www.dot.nebraska.gov/projects/future-projects/ by clicking on the “Blair-Herman” link.
