FREMONT – A winter weather advisory will bloom into a full bore Blizzard Warning at noon today. Travel will be dangerous, even impossible at times, and power outages could occur.

Ice is the primary threat this morning, with authorities reporting many cars in the ditch on highways due to sliding. “Unless absolutely necessary, stay home for your own safety and the safety of others,” said the Washington County Sheriff’s office via Twitter.

At noon, we will enter a Blizzard Warning, and snow in our area is expected to be heavy, wet and plentiful with the forecast updated this morning to now 6-10″. Power outages are possible, so prepare blankets, warm clothing, flashlights, candles, matches and lighters now. Keep phones charged and if you own battery back up systems, check them now.
