High Speed Motorcycle Race Ends With One Bike Impounded

FREMONT – Two teenagers were cited for illegally racing on a highway in the early hours yesterday, and one had their motorcycle impounded.

On Wednesday at approximately 12:30AM, Fremont Police observed two motorcyclists racing down the 1600 block of Johnson Road. Officers observed two teenagers driving in excess of 30mph over the posted speed limit.

The motorcyclists were stopped, and during that traffic stop it was learned one of the racers did not have a valid motorcycle operator’s endorsement or proof of insurance for the motorcycle.  Both teenagers were cited for the charges of Excessive Speed, Willful Reckless Driving, and Racing on a Highway.  The teenager with no M Class endorsement was additionally cited for No Motorcycle Endorsement and his motorcycle was impounded.
