Halloween Happenings: Events to get you in the spirit

FREMONT – Halloween is right around the corner and most kids can’t wait to get in costume and collect some candy. Fortunately, with an abundance of family friendly Halloween events throughout Fremont, they won’t have to.

Thursday, October 17th

Halloween Hysteria, presented by MainStreet Fremont, will start the spooky season off this Thursday evening from 5PM to 7PM. Kids and invited to downtown Fremont to trick or treat the businesses. A costume contest will be held inside Milady Coffeehouse at 6th & Park, and perennial favorite The Haunted Bank on 6th & Main will once again treat kids to mild scares and themed vignettes set up all through the Fremont National Bank location. Gallery 92 West will provide face painting with Halloween story time. The Best Mix 105.5 will be live on Main Street with music and treats for the kids, too.

Sunday, October 20th

The Dodge County Humane Society will host their Spooktacular Halloween Paw-ty from 12-2PM. Kids, adults and friendly 4 legged creatures are welcome to join the staff and adoptable animals for an afternoon of safe fun. The humane society will have a costume contest, coloring pages, face painting, games and prizes during their annual party.

Thursday, October 24th

The Fremont Family YMCA Halloween Party and Parade runs from 10AM – 11AM, with trick-or-treating and a costumed parade through the facility. Kids are invited to put on those costumes and trick or treat the halls and offices of the YMCA. After trick or treating, there will be cookie decorating for the kids. Please bring SIX treats to share with the others.  Trick or treating begins promptly at 10 a.m.

Join Midland University, Fremont Family YMCA, and Sinai Lutheran Church for a night of family fun at All Halls-O-Ween & Trunk N’ Treat! From 6PM to 7:30PM, bring the kids and participate in Trunk N’ Treat on Midland University campus streets. Sinai Lutheran Church will provide juice boxes and a photo background so you can take pictures of your costumed little ones. Parking is available at the Midland University Event Center.

Saturday, October 26th

The Parkview Center & Park Place Plaza on East Military near Heedum Field will once again host their annual Halloween Spooktacular from 10AM-1PM. Costumed kids and their parents are invited to play games, participate in the costume contest for great prizes, go trick or treating with the businesses and other fun activities.

Izaak Walton‘s Fremont Chapter will have a Trunk-or-Treat with a Hayrack Ride around the lake from 1PM to 3PM. The Izaak Walton lake & lodge are located at 2560 W Military Ave, Fremont.

For the adults who want to have a little fun themselves, the annual Uniquely Yours Stability Support Halloween Bash will return to The Rox in downtown Fremont on Saturday night from 8PM to 11PM. The event promises music and dancing, a 10 category costume contest, raffles, cupcakes, and other treats. There is a $10 admission to this event – all of the proceeds are donated to Uniquely Yours Stability Support, a local homelessness prevention and recovery service. UYSS opened their supply pantry, computer lab, clothing closet and many other resources up to flood victims this Spring and the proceeds will also help restock those services.

Sunday, October 27th

From 2PM to 4PM, the Job’s Daughters Fremont Chapter will host a Trunk or Treat at the Fremont Masonic Center (350 E 23rd Street, next to Methodist Fremont Health.) The event is free and family friendly. Costumes welcome!

Bring your little ghouls and guys for some fun trick-or-treating Bergan-style! Bergan Elementary School will welcome costumed kids from 3PM to 5PM to trick-or-treat throughout the parking lot. Teachers will be decorating the halls, so don’t forget to go inside!

Thursday, October 31st

Trunk or Treat at Diers Ford from 4PM to 6PM – free hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks for costumed kids & plenty of candy to collect before they head off into your neighborhood!
