Gubernatorial Debate Today at 3PM – Watch Live

GRAND ISLAND – News Channel Nebraska will broadcast the Gubernatorial debates today at 3:00PM, live from the Nebraska State Fairgrounds in Grand Island, NE.

Governor Pete Ricketts will debate gubernatorial candidate Bob Krist today. The rumored topics include property tax, gun violence in schools, and Nebraskan prison reform, among other topics.

Ricketts won his first term as Governor four years ago, prior to which he ran for a Senate seat. Before his run for Senate, Ricketts held prominent positions at TD Ameritrade and was the co-founder of the Platte Institute for Economic Research, which he described as a “free market think tank.”

Bob Krist has been a Nebraska unicameral legislator since his appointment by then Governor Dave Heineman on September 11, 2009. He won election to this office in 2010 and was re-elected in 2014. Krist represents the 10th Legislative District, an area encompassing some of the northwest portion of Omaha, the entire City of Bennington, and a north-central portion of Douglas County. Prior to his term as legislator, Krist served in the United States Air Force from 1979 to 2000 and retired as a lieutenant colonel.
