LINCOLN – In the next week, Governor Pete Ricketts is set to visit fire departments in Fremont, O’Neill, and Spencer to recognize the heroic efforts in serving Nebraskans during the historic floods of 2019.
Gov. Ricketts will make brief remarks at each location before presenting an award to the fire department. A town hall will follow the ceremony in Spencer. These events are open to the public.
The Fremont Flood Heroes Ceremony is an event to honor the Fremont Rural Volunteer Fire Department for their heroism during the 2019 floods.
The ceremony is set to take place on Friday, January 17 at 3:45 p.m. It will take place just after Gov. Ricketts’ town hall at Midland during his State of the State Fly Around.
Those interested in attending will go to the Fremont Rural Fire Station at 110 Boulevard Street in Fremont.
