FREMONT – The State of Nebraska has an unemployment rate of around three percent, which means there are often more jobs open than active job seekers. However, many people are underemployed and are looking for better jobs, but don’t have time to actively engage in the job search process. This common problem lead the Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Fremont Development Council to create their Drive Thru Job Fairs.
The spring Drive Thru Job Fair will be held on Wednesday, May 8th, from 3PM – 5:30PM in the Getzschman Plaza. Job seekers can drive up and receive an entire packet stuffed with job listings, application instructions, and company information for job openings throughout the area. Members of the Chamber and GFDC staff will be running the Drive Thru Job Fair all afternoon, so there should be no waiting – perfect for people on their way to or from work, or during their afternoon school pick-up runs.
Job seekers using online services are often frustrated by the lack of local listings, ads posing as job listings, and irrelevant listings clogging their search results. The goal of the Drive Thru Job Fair is to eliminate these frustrations by having each job submitted to the Chamber to be vetted before inclusion in the packet. Chamber staff will then assemble everything and hand the packets out to those who drive through.
If your company is interested in including a job in the packet, please reach out to Tara at the Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (402) 721-2641.
Job seekers pay nothing to receive the packet.
