Front Windshields Broken Out in Two Separate Incidents

FREMONT – Fremont Police responded to two similar property damage complaints, made within just blocks of each other.

Monday morning around 8:30AM, officers responded to a damage to property complaint, made at a residence in the 1500 block of north Platte Avenue.  The victim reported that his vehicle, a 2010 Ford Mustang, was parked and unattended on the street in front of the residence when someone smashed in the front windshield, leaving them with damage in the amount of at least $400.00.

Less than two hours later, police responded to another damage to property complaint about four minutes away from the first. The second complaint came from a residence in the 1800 block of Austin Lane, with circumstances nearly identical to the first incident. The victim reported that his vehicle, this time a 1998 Infinity, was parked and unattended on the street in front of the residence when someone smashed the front windshield, causing about $400 in damage here, too.

In the second instance, the vandal left officers some evidence in the form of boot prints on the hood of the vehicle, suggesting that the perpetrator broke the windshield by stomping on it.  If you have any information about these crimes, please contact Fremont Crimestoppers at (402) 727-4002.
