Fremont’s Salvation Army Pantry Runs Low as Cold Temperatures Creep In

FREMONT – As temperatures begin to slide down into the 20s and 30s during the overnight hours, many low income families find themselves faced with the associated costs: season-appropriate clothing, heating bills, and more. All of these issues take bites out of the family budget and can leave little leftover for grocery shopping.

Food pantries, like the one at the Fremont Salvation Army location at Military Avenue and I streets, often run low at times like these when the community need rises. Such is the case today, when the Salvation Army’s food pantry is at critically low levels. Donations are urgently needed for the following staple items:

  • Peanut butter, jellies, jams & nonperishable spreads
  • Cereal, rice, and oatmeal
  • Canned vegetables & fruits
  • Nonperishable dinner items like macaroni and cheese, pork and beans, and canned meats like tuna and chicken

Donations can be taken to the Fremont Salvation Army location at 707 North I Street Monday through Friday between 8:30A-12P or 1:30P – 4:30P. If you have questions relating to donating to the SA Food Pantry, please call (402) 721-0930.
