FREMONT – Good news for drivers of electric or hybrid vehicles: now you can charge up your car’s battery at two locations in Fremont.
The new electric vehicle charging stations were announced by the city in May, along with the City’s purchase of two new electric vehicles. Those Kia Niros arrived in Fremont back in July, and the charging stations are now installed and ready for public use.
The first charging station is located behind the HyVee gas station, on the north side of that building, in the Fremont Mall parking lot. The second charging station, pictured above, has been installed in the Ilgenfritz parking lot on Park street across from the Dodge County courthouse. Stalls are painted eco-green to indicate electric vehicle parking only, and signage to the same effect also went up.
September 8th through the 16 is National “Drive Electric” week across the US.
