Fremont Woman Charged with Five Offenses Following a Traffic Stop

FREMONT – A Fremont woman was arrested for multiple offenses after a traffic stop.

According to Lt. Ed Watts with the Fremont Police Department, on Friday a traffic stop was conducted in the 1700 block of N. Bell Street. 27-year-old Emelia M. Love of Fremont was stopped after officers observed her operating a car with expired licenses plates. During the stop it was learned Love was driving with a suspended operator’s license. She was arrested and charged with third offense Driving during Suspension, No Valid Registration, and No Proof of Insurance.

Following her arrest, drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana was located inside her vehicle, and she was also charged with Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana less than an ounce.

Also on Friday a burglary to a residence in the 800 block of S. Broad Street was reported at approximately 10:45 p.m.  The resident reported an unknown person or persons entered through a back door. The victim reported personal property, including cash and jewelry, had been stolen. The value of the cash and jewelry was estimated to be $6,000. There are no suspects at this time.

On Saturday at approximately 3:15 p.m. 23-year-old Desmine S. Prather of Cordele, Georgia was arrested and charged with two counts of Controlled Substance Registrant Violations. The arrest was made after it was determined Prather used fraudulent prescriptions at a pharmacy to obtain a controlled substance.

And on Monday at approximately 8:30 a.m. officers received a disturbance complaint from a residence in the 2100 block of Hickory Lane. A physical disturbance took place between residents at the home. The victim reported being choked by 46-year-old Stacie L. Welles of Fremont. Welles was arrested and charged with Strangulation and Third Degree Assault.
