FREMONT – The Fremont School Board met Monday, February 10 for their regular meeting. The board hit a few major topics, with a salary package increase on the front line.
The Fremont Board of Education and the Fremont Education Association negotiate these packages every year with the guidelines of a timeline, total compensation and what keeps the district competitive. The overall goal is to retain high quality educators. Comparisons are made to similar-sized districts and schools, then the negotiated offer falls into a range of 98 to 102% of the comparable schools’ packages.
The approved agreement includes a 3.8% increase to the total package, raising the base salary to $36,330. It maintains a flat salary stipend of $8,000 and an employer paid insurance premium option. The District will contribute the amount of $3,000 towards the purchase of any of the Educators Health Alliance Insurance plans.
The Board also approved naming Erickson and Brooks as the auditor of the school district’s financial records for the fiscal years of 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and 2021-2022.
Lastly, the Board approved a contract for the District’s Copy and Print vendor. The contract is with Eakes Office Solutions for the term of 7/1/2020 through 7/31/2027. The Board was given proposals from four vendors and Eakes provided the best price and plan for the district.
