Fremont Police Pass Busy Blizzard Weekend

FREMONT – The Fremont Police Department were busy this weekend; in addition to weather related calls for assistance and public safety patrols throughout the city, four arrests were made along with multiple citations issued.

Friday afternoon just before 4PM, police were called to the 800 block of north Christy street where a physical fight was in progress. Victoria E. Solberg, 28, and Ryan C. Sorenson, 29, both of Fremont were both arrested on suspicion of 3rd Degree Domestic Assault following the disturbance.

Later that night, around 11:15PM, police were called to another domestic disturbance. Hector G. Diaz-Flores, 23, of Fremont was arrested on suspicion of 3rd Degree Domestic Assault following a disturbance at a residence in the 1800 block of east Dodge Street.

Saturday morning, as sleet and ice fell throughout the city, police witnessed two men driving erratically. John L. Kavanaugh, 58, of North Platte, NE and Victor Mueller, 75, of Fremont were each cited on suspicion of Careless Driving after officers spotted the behavior in the 1000 block of north Broad Street.

On Sunday night, one man was arrested for DUI. Just after 8PM, police stopped to assist a vehicle stuck in the snow in the 800 block of north Broad street. As the officer attempted to assist the motorist, that officer noted signs of impairment from the motorist consistent with the consumption of alcoholic beverages. Timothy A. Henke, 24, of Arlington, NE was then arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. After questioning, the Henke also turned over a plastic baggie containing a small amount of marijuana.  After his arrest, a search of Henke’s car was conducted and a pipe used to smoke marijuana was found, as was an open can of beer.  Henke was additionally charged with possession of marijuana less than one ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage.
