Fremont Police Make Several Arrests After Busy Night

FREMONT – The Fremont Police Department had a busy night, making four arrests on charges ranging from possession of controlled substances to assault on an officer.

Officers of the Fremont Police Department and agents from the III CORPS Drug Task Force participated in a search of a residence in the 800 block of north Main Street. During the search a plastic baggie containing methamphetamine was located as was drug paraphernalia, including a pipe used to smoke drugs.  As a result of the search, Anthony R. Dunn, 44, and Marcia J. White, 51, both of Fremont, were arrested on suspicion of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Then, in the overnight hours between Wednesday/Thursday, at 1:00AM Jerri L. Nielsen, 27, of Fremont was arrested on numerous charges following a traffic stop in the 2100 block of north Nye Avenue. Nielsen was stopped after she was observed operating a motor vehicle in excess of the posted speed and driving erratically. During the stop the investigating officer noted signs of impairment consistent with the consumption of alcoholic beverages and Nielsen was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol.  During the arrest process Nielsen physically fought with the arresting officer.  Nielsen was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, refusal to submit to preliminary breath test, assault on an officer 3rd degree and disorderly conduct.

Just an hour later, around 2:30AM, police responded to multiple complaints in the 2100 block of north Keene avenue, reporting a vehicle driving up and down the street playing loud music.  A responding officer observed a vehicle being driven in the area that matched the description of the car playing loud music as described by residents. The officer spoke with a man who exited the driver’s seat of the vehicle, one Byron L. Brohimer, 24, of Fremont. Through a short interview, the officer learned that Brohimer’s driver’s license was revoked and he was arrested on suspicion of driving with a revoked license.
