FREMONT – Police are investigating a hit and run accident that took place at a railroad crossing.
According to Lt. Ed Watts with the Fremont Police Department, at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday officers responded to a hit and run accident that occurred in the 200 block of N. M Street. It was reported a dark colored SUV attempted to back away from the railroad crossing in the area while the train was crossing M Street. The driver of the vehicle struck several roadway reflector signs before fleeing the scene. The damage is estimated at $100.
And at approximately noon a woman reported the theft of her purse while shopping inside of a business in the area of the 3000 block of E. 23rd Street. The estimated loss was $30.
