Fremont Police Arrest Three, Cite One on Violent Monday

FREMONT – Police made three arrests and one citation yesterday, all stemming from incidents of violence or endangerment throughout the day.

Before 10AM on Monday, police made the first arrest when they responded to a domestic dispute in the 2800 block of north Broad street. Two parties were having a disagreement when Keith A. Huisman, 31, of Fremont struck the other person. Police found minor injuries consistent with the injured party’s recollection of events and Huisman was arrested on suspicion of 3rd Degree Domestic Assault.

Just after noon, police responded to the scene of a minor two-vehicle accident in the 1000 block of east 23rd street. One of the drivers was noticeably impaired, consistent with the consumption of alcohol. The inebriated driver had an infant in the car at the time of the accident; thankfully, the infant was uninjured in the collision and was placed into protective custody when police placed the driver under arrest on charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, DUI with a Passenger Under 16, and Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test.

Finally, just before 10PM, police responded to an address in the 1000 block of north M street where two people were allegedly assaulting a third party. Both the alleged assailants, Melissa M. Chandler, 31 and Jack E. Chandler, 24, of Fremont inflicted minor injuries on a third person when a disagreement turned violent. Melissa was placed under arrest on charges of 3rd Degree Domestic Assault and Jack earned a citation for the same.
