FREMONT – A Fremont man was arrested this weekend after shooting at a neighbor’s dog and causing non-life threatening injuries to the animal.
On Sunday 01/06/2019 at approximately 10:10AM, Fremont Police responded to a call reporting at least one shot from a rifle was fired. Police investigated the incident and as a result, Robert Ranslem, 75, of Fremont was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty after he allegedly shot a neighbor’s dog with a rifle.
Ranslem maintained the dog was aggressive towards him prior to the shooting but witnesses contradicted his allegation. Ranslem’s rifle was confiscated at the time of his arrest.
