Fremont City Council to Consider Redevelopment Plan

FREMONT – The Fremont City Council has a lot to discuss at their next regular meeting.

There will be two public hearings regarding the Redevelopment Plan of the City of Fremont for the Nebraska Irrigated Seeds Redevelopment Project, and a Cost-Benefit Analysis for the project.

The council will also consider holding the final reading for a request from Dodd Engineering & Surveying, LLC for a zoning change from RR Rural Residential to R-4 High-Density Residential for approximately 8.6 acres. The company is making the request on behalf of Don Peterson and Associates Real Estate Co., Connie & Paul Barron, and Luanne & Gary Ehmcke. The land is part of their proposed SunRidge Place development project.

The council will also discuss and take action on proposed resolutions to approve the ballot language for Primary Election questions in regards to the 2018 Bond Issues. They will then discuss approving a Local Option Economic Development Fund Grant in the amount of $500,000 to the Greater Fremont Development Council. The funds would be used by the GFDC to help increase the workforce housing stock of Fremont and Dodge County.

They will also hear and discuss a resolution involving a request from Pathfinder Motion Picture Company, LLC for a Film Incentive Program Grant for a film production in Fremont.

Tomorrow’s meeting will start off with a study session at 5 p.m. The session will be followed by a CDA meeting. The City Council meeting will follow straight after.
